Start Net

"Good evening to all. The time is now 20:00 and the start of the VECTOR weekly net.

Identification

VECTOR stands for "Vancouver Emergency Community Telecommunications Organization. Located at E-Comm, the Vancouver Emergency Operations Centre at 3301 East Pender, VECTOR provides amateur radio communications support for the City of Vancouver. VECTOR also provides interested amateurs with additional general communications announcements. We appreciate all updates and notices from other clubs and organizations in the lower mainland.

Net Control

"Your net control is ______ (your name) and my call sign is _____. Net Control uses the VECTOR station call sign of VE7VCT.

BCFMCA Acknowledgement

"VECTOR especially acknowledges the B.C. Frequency Modulation Communications Association for their support and the use of their VE7RPT and VE7RAG repeaters

Time Identification

"Along with the BCFMCA first-of-the-month net, this net meets every Wednesday at 20:00 hours and is open to all licensed radio amateurs."

Format

This net uses a format consisting of three parts: Check-Ins, announcements from the club executive, and general announcements.   This net may be interrupted at any time for emergency or priority traffic.  (Long Pause!)

VECTOR Check-In frequency explanation.

"In the event of a Vancouver emergency, VECTOR uses this frequency for CHECK-INs. Situation reports would be provided to keep everyone informed of the nature and status of the situation and check-ins would be asked to solicit assistance from available ham radio operators.  Should operators be required, net control would switch them to an OPERATIONS frequency. VECTOR’s primary operations frequency is 147.020”
